I grew up in Western Jamaica before opting to pursue higher education at The Mico University and the University of the West Indies in Kingston. I subsequently returned to Western Jamaica and served as a teacher for over 10 years. During this time, I volunteered in a number of community development and adult education initiatives which gave me great joy.

I migrated to the USA after teaching for a number of years in the United Kingdom. Based on my initial interest in community development, I pursued studies in Urban Planning and International Development at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the USA. This endeavor brought me to work for the International NGO Oxfam America in Boston as a researcher. Oxfam is well established worldwide and has a mission to tackle the root causes of poverty and create lasting solutions.

I am seeking election to the Jamaican Diaspora Council where I hope to make a meaningful contribution to the broad framework of development. In particular, I hope to bring skills related to education strategies, community development, economic development, environmental preservation and other related matters.
